Diving professionals and operators are regulated and represented by the scuba certification agencies. They are also mandated with the responsibility of promoting the sport and marine environment.
You will change to a certified scuba diver once you have successfully completed the training. You will also be given a scuba diving licensed after you are done with the training. You will only be allowed to scuba dive with diver operators or rent scuba equipment if only you have the scuba diving license and that’s why it is essential. When you walk around the world, you will come across many and different scuba certification agencies. Even if they are many, the approach of scuba diving will vary for each agency.
A lot of scuba certification agencies will offer the same training for recreational. Additionally, because they train on the same things, they recognize the qualifications of others. However, some scuba certification agencies are recognized globally, and they are the ones you should train with if you can afford their charges. When you join a scuba diving school, you will have to attend theory lessons. You are shown all the scuba diving safety techniques and the basic scuba concepts in the theory lessons. Some scuba videos will have to watch because they are the ones that will make you understand the safety practices of scuba.
The theory lesson will also include different scuba hand signals that are used to communicate under the water. The diving equipment that you will use soon will be introduced to you after you are through with that topic. During that lesson, you will be given textbooks so that you may understand the relationship between depth and pressure. You will also be taught how to use the dive tables when you are planning to dive and also assembling and maintaining your scuba equipment during this lesson.
Another lesson called confined water training will have to be attended also. This is where you get the experience of breathing under the water. How to use your equipment and practice buoyancy and surfacing skills will be taught in this lesson also. The theory and confined lessons will be achieved if only the final exam will be passed. After you have passed the final exam, you will progress to the open water portion of the program. You will practice your scuba diving skills with instructor here. You will be certified as an official scuba diver after you have passed all the test here.
